Individual esiRNAs

Our individual esiRNAs are ideal for the functional characterization of single genes. Currently, we have esiRNAs targeting transcripts from 16,744 human and 14,068 mouse protein-coding genes in stock. In addition, we carry esiRNAs targeting transcripts from 1,761 human and 643 mouse non-coding genomic regions.

esiRNA standard scales are 20 µg or 50 µg.

Negative controls:

  • RLUC (Renilla Luciferase)
  • FLUC (Firefly Luciferase)
  • EGFP (enhanced green-fluorescent protein)

 

Transfection with these esiRNAs should have no effect, if the corresponding target is not expressed by the cells. Therefore, these esiRNAs are ideal to optimize the concentration of transfection reagent for minimal cell toxicity.

Specifications

All esiRNAs targeting protein-coding genes were designed based on the sequence annotations from the ENSEMBL database.

Quality Control: esiRNAs are designed using the DEQOR design algorithm. The PCR products used for production are tested via gel electrophoresis, and identity is confirmed by DNA sequencing. Quality of esiRNA is validated by gel electrophoresis and concentrations are determined by measuring OD260 or fluorescence intensity.

Purification: RNaseIII-digested products are purified via column purification using anion-exchange chromatography, precipitated with isopropanol and washed with ethanol.

 

Format: All esiRNA are delivered in solution (resuspended in nuclease-free TE buffer) normalized to 200 ng/µl.

Storage and Stability: esiRNAs stored at -20°C are stable for 2 years. No decrease in stability was observed after 12 freeze/thaw cycles.

Shipment: Shipped in solution on dry ice, in individual tubes.

Technical Data Sheet: esiRNA will be delivered with a technical data sheet, which includes the esiRNA ID number, organism, amount (µg), concentration, lot #, and target sequence.
